My Industrious Dad
My dad has always been very hardworking.
He worked as a high school English teacher for 15 years. Then, after he
stopped teaching, he started to build houses
in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Now, even though he is 78, he still spends a lot of time
outdoors working on his property. When spring arrives every year, he plants a giant vegetable garden. In the garden, he
digs the soil, plants the seeds, and waters the plants. As soon as the vegetables are ripe, he picks them
and cooks delicious meals with them. He
works in his garden every day from spring through fall. Yesterday, he dug
holes for 25 tomato plants and planted all of them. Another activity that keeps my dad busy is chopping
wood. He cut
down a big tree on his property last week.
Then, he spent the whole day cutting the tree into smaller pieces and
moving the pieces into piles. Because he likes to work, he finds different
projects to do each day. In conclusion,
my dad is the hardest working person that I have ever met. (182 words)
